🌄 台湾 Táiwān Has the World's Highest Mountain in East Asia Outside the Himalayas!
Did you know?
Yushan (玉山, Yùshān), also known as Jade Mountain, is the tallest mountain in East Asia outside of the Himalayas. It rises to 3,952 meters (12,966 ft) — higher than Japan’s Mount Fuji!
But what's even more interesting is that on some winter days, you can surf on Taiwan’s southern beaches in the morning and then see snow on Yushan by afternoon — all in the same day!
🌏 Taiwan is a place of extreme natural contrasts:
Tropical coastlines
Alpine peaks
Hot springs
Coral reefs
And dense forests with hundreds of endemic species

🧠 Bonus Cultural Fact:
In Taiwan, night markets (夜市 – yèshì) are not just places to eat — they’re a way of life. You’ll find everything from bubble tea (珍珠奶茶 – zhēnzhū nǎichá) to grilled squid, fortune telling, and arcade games. It’s a social and culinary adventure every night!
